A Playground for Experimenters

Pocket Tracker is not a mass-produced commercial product—it’s a specialized kit for developers, engineers, makers and technology enthusiasts looking for a versatile, configurable tracking system.

Specs:

ESP32-S3

At the heart of PocketTracker is the ESP32-S3, a powerful microcontroller with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This ensures low-power wireless communication while maintaining high performance for real-time data processing. The dual-core architecture capabilities make it perfect for handling sensor data, logging, User itnerface with ease.

uBlox MAX-M10S

For accurate positioning, PocketTracker integrates the u-blox MAX-M10S, a high-performance multi-GNSS receiver. It supports GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou, ensuring fast and reliable location tracking even in challenging environments. With ultra-low power consumption, it delivers high accuracy without draining the battery, making it ideal for long-duration tracking applications.

Sensors

PocketTracker is equipped with the BNO086, an advanced 9-axis IMU that delivers highly accurate motion tracking and orientation detection with onboard sensor fusion. This ensures smooth and reliable data for navigation and movement analysis. Complementing this, the BME680 provides environmental sensing, measuring air quality, temperature, humidity, and pressure. Its barometric pressure readings help compensate for altitude gain, improving elevation tracking accuracy during movement.

Logging

PocketTracker features SD card logging, ensuring secure and efficient storage of GPS tracks, sensor data, and environmental metrics. This enables saving of GPX files, a highly compatible format widely used for mapping and data analysis. Optimized power management ensures extended logging sessions without draining the battery.

Crisp Display

PocketTracker features a Sharp Memory Display (LS018B7DH02), delivering crisp, high-contrast visuals with ultra-low power consumption. This reflective display ensures excellent readability in daylight, while an optional Azumo backlight (12616-06) provides visibility in low-light conditions. With instant refresh and minimal energy use, it offers a clear and efficient interface for real-time tracking.

External world interface

PocketTracker features a flexible 4-pin 2.5mm jack interface, allowing integration with external sensors and peripherals. The two configurable data lines support GPIO, I²C, or serial communication, adapting to different devices. A dedicated low-power VCC provides energy for compatible sensors, enabling expansion without compromising efficiency.

Power

PocketTracker is designed for efficient operation, supporting lithium batteries (LiIon, LiPo). With a compact battery under 2000mAh, it easily achieves over 2 days of continuous tracking in normal mode, sampling position and sensor data. The power path ensures the device remains powered via USB-C while charging, preventing battery drain during charging cycles. Multiple power modes are possible to optimize battery life based on specific use cases.

More

PocketTracker also includes a configurable status LED, providing clear visual feedback for various device states. In addition, it features two high-intensity LEDs that can be used as a compact torch for illumination in low-light environments, adding extra utility to an already versatile device.

PocketTracker is not defined by its specs alone—it’s a highly configurable platform that offers endless possibilities for customization. Whether you’re building a tracking solution, environmental monitor, or something entirely unique, PocketTracker is designed to adapt to your needs.
